Autumn time.
This delightful new pendant is one which i have been dying to make for weeks. I love the reds, yellows, greens and browns of autumn. Picturing this scene fills my arms with goosebumps! This is my attempt to capture some autumn excitement in silver.
This pendant begins with two silver coins, both English sterling silver, one Florin and one Shilling. Both coins are flattened out to a nice workable area size. The shilling is covered with a rough sketch of the tree and birdy. This is embellished and improved, freehand with a traditional jewellers piercing saw. This pretty tree section is then fused to the surface of the flattened Florin Coin. This coin is then patterned with falling leaves, etc. The surface is then oxidised with extreme heat and sulfur. The tree is then polished to a lovely, shiny contrast.
The Hairy Growler signature bronze star is added. The end result is quite pleasing, completely unique, recycled and made with care and love.
